Objective: To provide accurate and timely information on U.S. economic conditions, expert analysis of U.S. economic policy, and suggestions for political messaging.

Background: Econ Intel Briefs grew out of my work on the Hill. As the economist for the Senate Banking Cmte, I sent rapid updates on U.S. economic data prints to senior Senate staff. (Surprisingly, no one was already doing this.) I expanded this work as the chief economist for the Joint Economic Cmte. I have continued since leaving the Hill.

Release Schedule: Sent within 60 minutes of the following major U.S. data prints.

  • Employment: released on the first Friday of the month at 8:30am ET (schedule)

  • Consumer Price Index (CPI): released mid-month at 8:30am ET (schedule)

  • Gross Domestic Product (GDP): released end-of-month at 8:30am ET (schedule)

  • Monetary Policy: announced eight times per year at 2pm ET (schedule)

I aim for an average of one email per week. (Some weeks might have more or fewer.)

Contact: Please email me with questions or requests. I love helping you look good in front of your bosses. Economics is hard, and there are no dumb questions. Seriously.
